Oil Change Vendors

If you look at the amount of times you change your cars oil over the life of the car, you can plainly see why you should find a quality oil change vendor that you can go to when you need them. When you look at the instruction manual they usually suggest you change your oil at least every 3 months or 3000 miles if under severe conditions or 6 months and 7500 miles under normal conditions. Since most people fall somewhere between that changing their oil at an average of every 5000 miles that will mean you are in need of an oil change vendor at least 3 to 5 times a year.

If you take frequent trips of less than 5 miles, drive in hazardous conditions frequently like snow, dust, and dirt, or do a lot of off road driving then you may change it even more. Oil change services include changing the oil and the filter as well. This something that may sound simple, but it can truly affect the life of your car. Even some of the newer cars that come equipped with a “change oil” light shouldn’t make you feel more at ease about taking it to any old oil change vendor. Numerous things can happen that make this light unreliable, and if you take your car somewhere different every time you may run into a vendor that simply doesn’t care about taking the time to really inspect your car.

Not every oil change vendor will thoroughly inspect your car, but the good ones that you can rely upon will certainly give it a once over. These are the vendors that do not just push you out in 10 minutes or less. They take the time to get to know you and your car and are usually able to tell you if anything doesn’t sound just right.

To find a station that offers oil change services is simple; you can just look in the phone book or look on the Internet. But most likely, you should go with word of mouth. These can be smaller, family owned stations that really work hard at giving good service. Start by asking your family or friends if they have an oil change vendor that really goes above and beyond to provide quality service. If they don’t know of one, maybe they will ask around. If they do know of one, it is a good idea for you to go check them out.

Sure, maybe they aren’t the businesses that offer oil change coupons or give you a great deal on oil changes, but chances are they may not need to. In their eyes they have enough business to make a profit, but not so much that they can’t give you first class service. The facts are that you have invested sometimes up to $50,000 on a car. Instead of going to an oil change vendor that simply wants your money and not your business, you are putting your cars health at risk in the long run.
